AVENGER is an Adams 12 built by Trewartha Brothers at Port Fairy, Victoria in 1983. AVENGER, formerly Doris VI, has a long racing history which includes Sydney to Hobart and Westcoaster races. Under the previous owner she cruised to New Zealand in 2012.

This will be the 11th race for B&G ADVANTAGE. The crew is a mix of regulars and some are ‘ring ins’ from another Mumm 36. The best results have been in the Inaugural race where they won line honours, PHS, AMS and IRC. The crew aim to finish in a top 5 spot and are looking forward to a battle with boats that are of similar size.

FILEPRO, a David Lyons-designed 40-footer, originally names Micropay Cuckoos Nest, won the 1993 Sydney Hobart on corrected time after surviving a gale-force battering in the Tasman Sea. Since then, the yacht has had a number of owners and names in various states. A syndicate of Bellerive Yacht Club members, bought the yacht in 2016 and have been campaigning the yacht in Hobart since then. The boat is sponsored by Filepro, an Australian Owned software company specialising in practice management systems for law firms.

HEATWAVE was brought to Hobart in late 2016 and in desperate need of some TLC. She underwent an extensive make-over during the 2017 season, and the old faded yellow hull is now a shiny war boat grey. Over the past 12 months, we have gathered together a fantastic crew who are looking forward to racing against some great rivals on HEATWAVE‘s first L2H.

Once a yacht racing warhorse, ULTIMATE CHALLENGE is now famous for all the wrong reasons. This group of Hobart misfits are often granted race entry on compassionate grounds due only to the fact they guarantee a spike in bar sales. Their trophy cabinet is full of empty beer cans, broken boat bits and random pairs of sunglasses. In the unlikely event this crew stand on top of a podium they will be sure have a party like no other!

ZEPHYR is a 12.6 metre Farr designed Bermudian sloop and has been active in twilight, combined club events and offshore races out of the DSS. It competed in the 2016 L2H with solid results. Recent IRC measurement and success in the Isle of Caves overnight race in IRC gave grounds for optimism especially in heavy windward work.
