Launie Launch on the Lawn
The Launie Launch on the Lawn party will be held on Sunday 30th October 2016 with kick off at 12noon. The event which will take place on the picturesque lawns of the Derwent Sailing Squadron will celebrate this year’s NATIONAL PIES Launceston to Hobart Yacht race. This year is the 10th anniversary of the Iconic Tasmanian Yacht race and we think this is worth celebrating.
The party is a free all ages event and we welcome past and future skippers, crew and volunteers along with their families, Yacht Club members from all over Tasmania and anyone who thinks an afternoon of music, shenanigans, tasty food (not to mention “Proper Pies”) and happy hour drink prices is a great day out.
Come along and enjoy an afternoon basking in the sunshine and the sounds of local Hobart band, Atomic. Matt Bugg, Paralympian Silver Medalist at the 2016 Rio games will be officially launching the race after some additional entertainment provided by local Yacht Club Commodores with a short race around the Wrest Point mark and back to see who is the most capable sailor amongst them in the Inaugural Commodores 303 Cup Challenge.
